OLDER ARTICLES

Visual Composition is a piece for a school project in which we had to partner up and create a piece of visual art that musicians could interoperate. My partner, Braden Sauder, created an original musical composition, and then I created a visual to synchronize with it. The technique I utilized is called light painting. It is when you set your camera to a long exposure and use lights to “draw” shapes in the air, leaving streaks of light in the final photograph. I took over 150 of these photos and put them together into a stop motion video, with different shapes and movements corresponding with the music being played.

Color correction is a very important factor in creating a professional quality film. Color pallet alone can portray mood, thematic elements and can enhance a setting. Today I came across a great video tutorial by YouTube user polcan99 that demonstrates the importance of effective color correction.
